Courtney Hempton

Courtney Hempton is a bioethicist and interdisciplinary researcher, with particular interest in the management of dying and death. She is currently a PhD Candidate with the Monash Bioethics Centre at Monash University, and her doctoral research focuses on the emergence of law, policies, and practices regarding ‘voluntary assisted dying’ in Victoria. Courtney also provides research support to Dr Christopher Mayes at the Alfred Deakin Institute at Deakin University, and teaches ethics, health law, and professionalism into the medicine programs at Deakin University and Monash University. Courtney serves on the both the Clinical Ethics Committee and Voluntary Assisted Dying Steering Committee at Monash Health, and also both the Committee and the Student and Early Career Researcher Stream Committee of the Australasian Association of Bioethics and Health Law.
